Standing about 18 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide, this beautiful glass sculpture showcases classic glass blowing methods and techniques. Full of movement, this hand-sculpted glass turtle swims across a flat surface with its front fins bent upwards and back fins kicking. The turtle's shell is created with a thin layer of Dichroic Glass added to the bottom of the starfish, which is metallic and glitter-like. The Dichro gives the appearance of shimmering sand. The color is covered by a thick layer of clear glass, creating a wet appearance, as though it is underwater. 

It measures about 5.5”x 6.5”x 2”

This Fire Dance Starfish is created with a fire red, yellow and orange color pattern layered on the bottom that gets magnified from the thick optical layer of clear glass on the top. Like a Polynesian Fire Dance, this starfish is glowing with warm embers of excitement.

Choose between Flat and Creeping Styles. Flat starfish will rest on a flat surface with no legs bent over the side. Creeping starfish have two bent legs, capturing the moment when the starfish is creeping away, just like it clings to rocks in the ocean.

This is a hand sculpted original "Starfish Cluster" by glass artist John Gibbons.

This piece measures about 10.75 inches tall and 8 inches wide. The base is a small clear glass bowl and the stars are fused to it while it is hot. This sculpture takes John and two skilled assistants working in unison to create.

This marble is made on a torch that reaches a temperature of 5000 degrees Fahrenheit.  I am wanting to get back into making glass on the torch so I have been practicing with these small marbles. This mushroom marble is created by stabbing a small rod of colored glass into a molten blob of clear. The color liquifies and mushrooms inside the molten glass. This is a one of a kind marble, and is 1 inch wide.

Hand sculpted glass starfish with purple color pattern. This purple ochre sea star is inspired by a starfish that John saw while diving in La Jolla Cove, CA. The color pattern on the bottom of the starfish gets magnified from the thick optical layer of clear glass on the top.

This Dolphin sculpture measures w:7" x h:22.5"

 *Cracked and repaired with special glass epoxy.

This large marble measures about 2 inches and is inspired by the mysterious dragon creature. 
I start by using dichroic glass and pick up a copper and silver based color. Next, I use tweezers to twist the colors into a spiral until it resembles a dragon's eye.  Each eye is an individual work of art that is one of kind.

This medium-sized marble measures about 2 inches and is inspired by a rainbow. I start by using long rods of different colored glass, which are then rolled up onto a solid mass of molten clear glass. Next, it is twisted into a spiral pattern and shaped with a mold into a marble.
