These wonderful sculpted glass mushroom represents fungus often seen in nature and created by John Gibbons of Eureka, California. They are bright colored stem, the glass base is made with cool blues and silver tones. This art glass specimen is made to sit flat on a table or shelf. John tries to capture the essence of a mushroom in nature while highlighting the properties of glass. The mushroom is created with the color pattern on the top of the fungus creating an illusion of a freshly sprouted specimen.
These beauties are about 5 inches in height.

This small starfish cluster is a hand-sculpted glass vase made with a lattice of starfish surrounding a clear glass bowl. Each starfish is hand sculpted without the use of molds, making each sculpture unique. The vibrant colors draw you into the depths, while the thick layer of clear glass make the starfish appear as though they have just been pulled out of the ocean. 

This is an extra small Starfish Cluster made with extra small starfish. Compare to the next size up in the last picture.

It measures about 5 1/2 inches wide x 6 1/2 inches tall. Made to order. Allow for a 2-3 weeks to be recreated.

Not every glass piece turns out perfect, but certainly always beautiful. This one of kind bowl just got a little too hot in the shop causing a slight imperfection in the shape. Using classic glass blowing techniques, aqua blue and white colored glass are shaped into a footed bowl. Measuring about 10.25 inches wide and 6 inches in height, this piece will surely be a conversation starter.

Includes 1 votive.

These blue votives measure about 2.75 inches tall by 4 inches wide. 

They are very thick glass. And the ribs on the votive are created by putting the molten bubble into a mold. Then the bubble is broken off the blowpipe and the hole in the top is opened up.

These could also be used as small bud vases.

*They don't fit a standard votive candle.

This is a one of kind piece. The vase is inspired by the colors of a glass float attached to fishing nets. When the ocean currents swirl and move the floats you see colors mix and blend highlighting a beautiful aquatic palette. I try to capture the essence of the tide pool in this optical and rainbow colored glass. The starfish is created with a bright rainbow color pattern on the bottom that gets magnified from the thick optical layer of clear glass on the top, the starfish almost looks wet. The pattern on this particular star is created by using the bottom cut offs from rainbow vases. I saved them for years and figured I can use them in my stars for a new kind of pattern.

This Octopus is MADE TO ORDER.

This hand blown glass octopus is an earthy amethyst tone speckled with smokey blue and copper. It measures about 10 inches wide and 8 inches tall with sinister eyes.

This item is  made to order. Please allow 1 to 2 weeks for recreating.

This pair of dueling octopus is struggling to rip open a footed aqua blue blown glass bubble. John heated the vessel's top opening to make it appear that the octopus' legs are pulling it apart. The color of this octopus pair is a speckled magenta. 

It measures about 20" wide x 8" height x 7" deep. 

The Octopus Tug-of-War sculpture is a combination of three separate pieces of glass, fused together with a 5,000 degree torch. This sculpture requires the assistance of two highly skilled glass artists to create. First, John sculpts each octopus and then puts it in a holding oven with the help of an assistant. Simultaneously, his other assistant is gathering the glass and blowing the vessel. John finishes the vessel, then takes the octopus out of the oven and reheats it to a precise temperature. The octopus gets so hot that the legs flop around, so he has to attach it to the vessel quickly, fusing each leg with a 5,000 degree torch. 

This hand sculpted glass starfish was created by John Gibbons of Eureka California. This art glass starfish measures about 6 inches in diameter (from the longest two legs across).

I try to capture the essence of the starfish in a tide pool. The starfish is created with the color pattern on the bottom of the starfish that gets magnified from the thick layer of optical clear glass on the top, making the starfish almost look wet. The pattern on this particular star is called Murrine, an Italian glass technique where I take a glass cane (long rod of glass) and cut it in cross-sections to reveal a pattern that mimics the natural texture of the starfish in the wild. People have also said that it looks like barnacles on the starfish.

Hand blown glass ornaments, perfect for the holidays!

This one of a kind hand blown glass vase is a statement piece for any home. Using traditional glass blowing  techniques, John captures the colors of an ocean shoreline shimmering in the Pacific sun. This vase is about 7 inches tall and 5.5 inches wide.

This Starfish Lamp Base has a warm glow and three starfish on each lamp base. Measured at about 11.75 inches tall by 6.5 inches wide.

There is a small 1/2 inch hole in the bottom of this piece.

Hand blown glass vase. This vase measures about 8 inches tall x 3.5 inches wide.

This vase is made by layering, certain colors on top of each other and then putting the vase into a mold. The mold creates a diamond pattern on the vase and separates the colors, revealing the layers beneath. The clear lenses in the center of the diamond draw you into the depths of the vase. I call this color combination tide pool green. This is a one of a kind piece.

Imagine you could see pebbles forming in frozen time. This is an adorable window into a swirling color display, about an inch in diameter. Using traditional glass blowing methods, this marble is shaped into the perfect sphere.

The blown pendants each measure about 6in tall by 4 1/2in wide.

*Not damaged.

These hand-blown glass light pendants were created by rolling the clear molten glass through several colors of powdered white glass and then powdered blue glass. It is then blown into a bronze mold called a pineapple mold to give it the pattern of bubbles trapped in the glass. After it comes out of the mold another layer of molten clear glass is put on top of the bubble, and it is blown and shaped by hand with wet newspaper to become a perfectly shaped shade.

Hand sculpted pumpkin, inspired autumn glass piece, measures 5.5" in diameter and is 6” tall.

The “Porcelain Doll Pumpkin ” is a medium to large in size pumpkin, averaging 16-24 pounds. “Porcelain Doll” pumpkin has a smooth rind that is deeply ribbed with defined lobes and transforms from pale yellow to cream, and then a pink-salmon hue when mature. A true inspiration when creating in the glass studio . This forever pumpkin is measuring about 4 inches wide and 4.5 inches tall and topped with a perfect glass stem. Using classic glass blowing techniques, this beautiful gourd will be a focal piece in your home.

Inspired by the beautiful dolphins of the sea, I created a glass sculpture representing this magical animal.  Using classic glass blowing techniques, blue and white glass are shaped to form a forever glass sculpture that is able to be hung and will capture the love of a collector or yourself. Measuring about 2 inches wide and 4.5 inches in length.

Full of movement, this hand-sculpted glass turtle swims across a flat surface with its front fins bent upwards and back fins kicking. The turtle's shell is created with a thin layer of Dichroic Glass added to the bottom of the starfish, which is metallic and glitter-like. The Dichro gives the appearance of shimmering sand. The color is covered by a thick layer of clear glass, creating a wet appearance, as though it is underwater. 

It measures about 6.25”x 7”x 2”

Using colored glass cane to create a rainbow spinning out of control yet giving a sense of peace as it dances around. A graphite mold is used on the surface of the marble to create a perfect finish.
