The Cobalt Dichro Creeping Starfish is created by adding a thin layer of Dichroic Glass to the bottom of the starfish, which is metallic and glitter-like. The Dichro gives the appearance of shimmering sand.
When the glass is hot, John lets the molten glass fall over the edge of a metal table, capturing the moment when the starfish is creeping away, just like it clings to rocks in the ocean.
It measures about 5" in diameter.
